Jerry Gage - Drummer

Jerry Gage;  born and raised in New Jersey. At the age of 15, I moved to Kendall Park, New Jersey where I attended John F. Kennedy High School. I became friends with some kids of the neighborhood who got me interested in music. A young fellow I met in the neighborhood, who later became my best friend, invited me to his home. His father was an engineer and had built a musical light box that responded to musical sound with different colors. Wow, I thought as I watched this box light up with various colors. This is when my enjoyment for music began. My friend’s older brother played a song on the keyboard and wanted me to play along with him on the drums. After that I went out to purchase my own set of drums. Shortly, after I started a band with four members. We would invite our friends over to listen to us “jam.” Then we started performing at parties. When my family and I moved to Willingboro, New Jersey, I had to form a band all over again. With previous bands we performed cover tunes but, when I found this new group of guys we decided to start recording original music. We did that for awhile then at the age of 20, I went into the service. I moved to northern California when I came out of the service. Then I got married and had two great children. Settling down, I decided to take a break from play music. After several years, one night an old friend called me and asked if I would perform with them because they didn’t have a drummer. I accepted the offer and took this as an opportunity to get back into playing music. After performing with them that night at Fireside, my friend JP and I thought it would be a great idea to start an open mic night there so that musicians and singers could come perform and also so that I could find members for my band. added to the band after auditioning for me at my home. And together including myself we were called FocusPoint Live now we are (Point of Fusion) Smooth Jazz with a Edge.

 Ralph Rechnitz - Keyboardist

Musical Bio for Ralph Rechnitz Before ever playing keyboards, Ralph started playing trombone at the age of 9. He went on to play through his school years in various concert bands, marching bands, and jazz bands. In college he played in one of the top college jazz bands in the Western U.S. with the College of San Mateo under the direction of Fred Berry, former trumpeter with the Count Basie Orchestra and current Director of the Jazz Orchestra at Stanford University. Ralph considers Mr. Berry to be one of his all time greatest musical influences and music mentors. Ralph started to play professionally at the age of 19 and performed at various nightclubs in the SF Bay Area in the genres of pop, funk, soul, rock, country, and top 40 radio hit covers. It was in this setting that he self taught to play the keyboards with the assistance of Gary Sanguinetti, who was the keyboard player and bandleader of the band Sky Blue Waters. Gary had previously taken private lessons from Tom Coster, former keyboard player with Santana. Gary taught Ralph the blues scale, which became the key to opening up his improvisational ability. In 1983, Ralph did a brief stint as keyboard player for a San Jose rock band called Starrider, who opened up on numerous occasions for Eddie and the Tide, a popular Bay Area band at the time. In 1984 Ralph experienced a life-changing spiritual religious conversion and soon began using his musical talents in the arena of gospel, praise and worship music. He began to work with Ron Kenoly, a then unknown but soon to be world-renowned praise and worship leader with 18 albums to date and a Dove award recipient in 1997. Ralph played trombone and arranged the horn parts for Ron’s songs back at Jubilee Christian Center in San Jose. Ralph planted and pastored a church in the Dublin/San Ramon area in the early 90’s where he once again played keyboards for the praise and worship team. He continued his music ministry after moving to Discovery Bay in 1998 and became musically involved with various local churches. In 2010, Ralph auditioned and was accepted into an international praise and worship band called the ACN Team Jesus Praise Band. This band plays at arenas across the U.S. in front of 25,000 people for 4 major weekend business events every year that include a Sunday morning worship service. In October 2015, Ralph was invited to play keyboards with Point of Fusion, which he is thrilled about because it is the style of music he has listened to for years but never had the opportunity to play professionally until now!

Milah Jones main photo.jpg

Milah Jones mom always said she was singing before she had ever talk, at two years old she was singing full songs. A few years later, her older sister Jammesie (Mesie) created their version of the "Jones Girls" with little sister Kaiyah and cousin Veronica. Mesie taught Milah how to pick out the harmony lines in any song. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Milah had music in her life from day one...from Bach to the O'Jays to Gospel... everything was played in her household. During school she sang in the choir and musical theater. After graduating from high school, Milah had two children, went to college for a bachelor's and a master's degree but there was always something missing... MUSIC. Once her children were older Milah decided to go back to singing. She sang with an Old School R&B band called Soul Play and many other bands singing lead and backgrounds. In the future, she hopes to travel the states singing to the masses.

Mark Schwartz found musical inspiration in the Grateful Dead while in college, where he picked up the guitar and put in his “10,000 hours” of self learning and jamming. He formed several rock bands in graduate school while earning is Ph.D. in biochemistry, playing improvisational rock in the heyday of the great guitar gods - Garcia, Allman, Clapton, Santana, etc. He also followed several jazz bands, including Jeff Back, Modern Jazz Quartet and others. Playing live in this period were some of the greatest and highest times of his life. Eventually, he got married while in graduate school, graduated, moved to the east coast and started his career in the biotechnology industry, and unfortunately, drifted away from live music and focused on his career. He moved to the bay area in the 80’s, had 2 wonderful children, moved several more times around the country and eventually returned to the bay area. Always wanting to get back to playing music, Mark decided a few years ago it was time to dial back his career and get back to performance. He picked up his guitar, worked on putting in his 10,000 hours again, and started playing with several groups when Jerry Gage invited him to share his love of improvisation with his group - the first get together worked and Mark looks forward to living out his dream playing with the great folks in The Point of Fusion.
